Nodame Cantabile Movie Part 2! in another 3 months (??!!!)
yes i did it. i watched Nodame! if you ask me what's so nice about this show, i probably won't be able to tell you succintly in a simple sentence to encapsulate the entirety of my complete answer. if you know the purpose of music here on earth, you'll understand why this show is so bloody fantastic. that's an understatement, actually.
this movie...the entire Nodame Cantabile anime/manga series, to be precise, will make you wanna go sit in the audience of a full orchestra somewhere in a culturally-rich part of Europe and just be there to take in everything. Nodame tells me what music is made for. Music serves a higher and greater purpose than just entertainment, helping to keep one occupied while passing time, background accompaniment to songs, setting the mood and atmosphere to a certain social context...whatever.
Music takes your mind to places where your body cannot go. Music is made as an expression of worship. Music makes your heart beat faster, makes you cry, makes you know that you're given feelings for a reason.
anyway, while i was marvelling at the beautiful interior architecture of the orchestra hall in the movie i had a thought- if something man-made can be so breath-takingly captivating, what would Heaven look like?
