Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. - Hebrews 11:1 ♥

we knelt down during praise and worship today!

it was definitely a different feeling and somehow it goes one step beyond lifting up hands in ultimate surrender. it's been a long time since i felt God's presence and i'm just so glad i did today. i miss the swelling up of that undescribable emotion inside.

ushering is a truly understated ministry. yesterday i learnt just how much the rest of us didn't see and didn't know about the work, sweat, effort and sacrifices of people in the usher ministry. it's so behind-the-scenes that i wish everyone could be an usher at least once just to feel, experience and understand the tremendous effort behind the superficial appearance of things. i totally kow-tow them. ushering is a great way to lose weight since we will have to skip lunch most of the time and survive by popping mints every 30 mins. i learnt so much things- they seem trivial but in usher ministry, everything significant is a result or consequence of a seemingly trivial detail. i never knew arranging chairs required so much attention to details. i never appreciated how the offering envelopes and the other notices were placed in perfect alignment and uniformity on every single seat. i never saw all those things until i did them myself. and i never really experienced the reward of smiling at a stranger until i did it first.

Pastor Lia shared a very interesting insight... she said that God puts people together, that when you meet someone it's not by chance but by His plan and that when we meet someone we are actually looking for a piece of our destiny in them. so each and every person carries pieces of destinies of every single person he or she meets. so when we meet someone, we find a piece to add to the puzzle. at the end of the day when every piece has been collected, the completed picture is what God painted of our lives from the very beginning and He leads us there, person by person, encounter by encounter, experience by experience. it's kinda cool to know that i'm carrying a part of someone else's life in me. so is fate actually divine appointment? are coincidences instances when God chooses to remain anonymous?
