super hot, super sweaty, super crowded, super long queues, super tired (when gg home) but super fun, super interesting, super eye-opening, super hilarious happenings, super tattoos (haha sze!) and hence, it was a superb day :)

why won't the rain stop. anyway, i just realised that "thunder" by boys like girls is an absolutely brilliant song. rainy days are such mood-spoilers.

memories, memories... we went back to our old (unsold) house for an impromptu "visit". feels kinda weird to go back... it's so empty and it lacks a certain human warmth. there's this sense of familiarity mixed with a bit of disconnection... i don't know how to describe this haha.

anyway, i'm going to Avril Lavigne's Best Damn concert!!! can't freaking believe that i'm actually going! thanks grace for telling me bout the ebay seller and thanks shermaine for collecting the tix! must bring several boxes of Golden Throat sweets. freaking throat-savers. only at $1.70 per box! and there're 3 or 4 small packets in one box and 5 sweets in one packet so that makes 15-20 sweets. going with shermaine. and grace and her friend are going too! the (ever) lucky girl won tix from 987 fm. i called till my thumb went numb but then again, i'm not the lucky sort heh.

shittt. lab was terrible. it really is possible to do lab for 6 hours. it'd certainly be more appropriate to compose an essay about the severe lack of lab equipment and assistance under the "comment on the experiment" section than to critisize anything else. as one of my lab-mates so aptly put it- they've the money to get so many expensive (or expesive-looking, at least) equipment but they can't afford to supply us with the obviously cheaper (by like tenfolds) apparatus we need. 6 IR machines... but no salt plates. i bloody hate this term's lab. the only perk (if it can be considered one) is that we have personal fumehoods. for the amount of effort we put in, we so deserve 10 AUs instead of the painfully pathetic 2 AUs we're getting. damn them.

on the other hand, the first French lesson was tres fantastique. i love it already. the teacher has a great sense of humor, which i feel is one of the best assets any teacher can possess. because it primarily prevents your students from falling asleep. the French book cost a whopping 40 bucks... but oh well, anything French is expensive yeah... including the textbook. still, it's a worthwhile investment. i'm so out of touch with what's going on with the Olympics and all... after all it hardly affects me. except that if we win big then they might give all schools a holiday or something, like Sze mentioned. going to sleep now... bon nuit.

went to Grace's place and helped pack and clear her table this afternoon... it's quite therapeutic actually and i do feel better after that. plus it's kinda fun to pack stuff that's not yours. and on top of that, i got to see xiaojia!!! her dog is the most adorable creature EVER!!! here's photographic proof: this is real funny. but real cute, of course.

Xiaojia SMILING! (this is one rare pic, Grace!!!)

and lastly, look how adorable she is. there's absolutely no way you can't love her.

note: whoever needs clearing, tidying or packing services for your room, please hire me! i charge $5 per hour... and i'm NOT kidding i will really do it for you.

day one at school... the people-watching high lasted a while but there wasn't really anything (or anybody) spectacular enough. though most additions and changes are rather insignificant (like the new mr. bean and bubble tea stalls), i'm still quite glad to be back. first day lectures... ok for now. but dead boring in the long run (i can so foresee that). which is why i added another arts module to balance my otherwise chemistry-intense schedule. it's called magical realism. i've only got a vague idea of what it's about but am sincerely hoping there'll be some Harry Potter involved. speaking of Harry Potter, the trailer's not bad... somehow the excitement doesn't hit me like it used to.
the new SPMS building has super large labs but super cramped lecture theatres that are 4-storey high (with the back door opening to level 4 and the front door leading to the ground floor). sitting on the third last row of the theatre will give you a bird's eye view of the lecturer's balding head and maybe a spell of giddiness. and the view of the school's surrounding sucks. very ugly. went for final theory lesson 1 today. no money at the moment to even book my very first practical lesson. driving is such a money-sucker.

finally the darn entrepreneurship course is over...well, not exactly since we still have to submit the bloody business plan...i can't decide which one i detest more- this course or physics. i got 2 elects. media in america and French. my timetable is all right i guess. anyway, the bad news is nuhh-nnuh-nuhh lecturer who speaks like this is gonna be lecturing or giving tutorial classes (depending on whether the school took our honest feedback seriously) for one of the mod's we're taking. boo.
