i wanna watchhhhhh!!! so vastly different- one being a light-hearted rom-com/chick-flick and the other being a dark psycho musical. but i like them both! TERRI! you better watch sweeney todd because ALAN RICKMAN is in it and he SINGS. so does Johnny Depp. what's with him and sharp objects...first edward scissorhand and now this. TERRI! i'm not done telling you- you should also watch it because half the cast is from HARRY POTTER! by the way Johnny Depp and Helena Bonham Carter are like a match made in gothic paradise because they both got that twisted, siao look.

Heath Ledger's sudden passing is a tremendous shock. when i saw his face on Life! i thought it was an interview... i'm not a fan of his or anything. i've never watched any of his shows and everything i know about him was from magazines and newspapers. still, i simply can't believe that he died. just like that. it made me realise the utter vulnerablilty of life. one moment you're alive and breathing, the next moment you're gone. it's scary. and it puts a new perspective on life... that a new day can be celebrated or feared, depending on how you look at it. you can be thankful that you get to live one more day, or you can be worried sick with the thought that this may possibly be your last day on earth. it's sad...that death is the only certainty in life.

haven't been updating regularly...school has completely consumed my life. let's see. ok i've been busy busy busy with tutorials. this sem's timetable is definitely tons better than the last because there's less chemistry and more of other non-science modules. too much of a certain thing is really sickening. and there's only one module with lab this sem so that helps a lot. and no lab quizzes which is utterly blissful news.

my friends and i are on a mission to enrich our uni. lives. so we joined kickboxing. the first session was a total sweaty, cardio workout. it's fun but dead tiring as well. still, the aches are the feel-good kind. tomorrow's the next session.

i've been busy blogshop-browsing too. and joining mailing lists of livejournal shops everywhere. oh anyway, i've an announcement. ATTENTION EVERYONE (who blogshops): don't ever visit this blogshop- colouredshapes.blogspot.com
it's a long story... the owner is just plain unreasonable and unreliable. my friend had a very unpleasant experience dealing with her. believe us.

here are some really great online shops worth visiting. they do sell nice stuff and not those typical ah-lian wear.

and lastly

happy blogshopping!

school's starting tomorrow and half of me feels like going but the other half feels like dying... life without a decent book is such a pain in the arse. once again, i find proof that technology is definitely NOT an indispensable tool in my life because i ran out of things to do online. but if i had a book i could read all day. between a pda and pen plus paper, i'd pick the latter. between a digi-cam and a film-loaded one i'd pick the old school camera over the digital one anytime. i'm not against technology nor do i resist advancement. i'm open-minded to both old and new. sure, technology does make things more convenient for us in certain ways. but there are just some things it can't replace. like a handmade card versus an e-card, handmade card wins hands down. bottom line is- stuff like computers... they're there to help us but not be us.

i guess my post-travel depression is getting better... wikipedia's right- it does take time. it's strange, i've never actually MISSED a place i've gone to on a holiday before. until now, that is. CNY is just merely a month away..no, actually it's less than a month huh. all that relative-meeting, long-time-no-see greetings, height-comparing (yeah don't ask...every family has got their own idiosyncrasies) and all that noise and commotion. the annual inevitables.
