Happy Halloween, people!
our estate has lots of families celebrating it, so different from where we used to live. saw so many ang-moh kids in their costumes and get-ups they are adorable. too bad we won't be home later...they might drop by for trick-or-treating. today is also the LAST lab session of the semester which calls for a grand celebration that would've been possible if not for the fact that it's going to be the exams in a matter of 2 weeks thus celebrating now feels kinda weird and wrong... anyhow, lab today was good, partly because of the relatively easy nature of the experiment. and the over-abundance of yield (mine was like... 200%). here're some picutres!
my product : vanadium complex... looks like mashed up crayon.
the aisle of fume cupboards. (i'm so proud of this picture it was as if i was meant to take it cos at this very moment every single person was not in his/her seat bwahaha.)
my apparatus- and i'm also proud to say that throughout the whole 10 weeks i didnt break a single piece of glassware. whoopee. yes, i spilled the silicon oil-bath on my labcoat's sleeve, yes i sprayed water all over my work space, yes i knocked over my products, yes i didnt close the stop-cock of the separatory funnel and let half my yield flow away but no i did NOT break anything!!!
